Ukraina tarvitsee kiireellisesti apua. Pokrovskin tilanne on äärettömän vaikea. Videoklippeihin sisältyy myös Venäjän sotarikoksia paljastavia videoita. Nyt alan erittelemään ne omaksi ryhmäkseen tähän blogiini. Sotarikoksia tarkastellaan erottelu- ja suhteellisuusperiaatteiden näkökulmasta:

• Erotteluperiaate tarkoittaa, että kaikkien konfliktin osapuolien pitää erotella siviili- ja sotilaskohteet toisistaan. Kaikki tahalliset hyökkäykset siviilejä ja siviilikohteita – kuten kouluja, koteja tai sairaaloita – kohtaan ovat sotarikoksia paitsi silloin, jos siviilikohteita käytetään sotilastarkoituksiin.

• Suhteellisuusperiaatteen mukaan puolestaan on kiellettyä iskeä tavalla, jonka vahingot siviileille tai siviilikohteille ovat suhteettoman suuret sotilaalliseen hyötyyn nähden.

Kansanmurhia, eli joukkotuhontaa, ovat teot, joilla pyritään tuhoamaan kokonaan tai osittain ryhmä, joka on määritelty kansallisuuden, etnisyyden tai uskonnon perusteella. Tuhoamisella voidaan tarkoittaa tappamista, vaikean ruumiillisen tai henkisen vamman tuottamista, ryhmän elinehtojen tahallista heikentämistä, jonka tarkoituksena on hävittää ryhmä kokonaan tai osittain, ryhmän syntyvyyden tahallista estämistä ja lasten pakkosiirtoja ryhmästä toiseen.

Rikokset ihmisyyttä vastaan ovat rikoksia, jotka ovat osa laajaa ja järjestelmällistä siviiliväestöön kohdistuvaa hyökkäystä. Tahdonvastaiset katoamiset, murhat, orjuus, raiskaukset sekä ihmisten karkotukset tai pakkosiirrot voivat olla rikoksia ihmisyyttä vastaan.

Todistusaineiston kerääminen mahdollisista sotarikoksista on elintärkeää, jotta niihin syyllistyneet tahot saadaan vastuuseen tulevissa sotarikosoikeudenkäynneissä. Ukraina tarvitsee mittavaan selvitystyöhön muiden valtioiden tukea.

Venäjän aloitettua hyökkäyssodan Ukrainassa vuonna 2022 Venäjän armeijaa ja viranomaisia on syytetty useista miehitettyjen alueiden sotarikoksista. Maa on kohdistanut jatkuvia hyökkäyksiä siviilikohteisiin kuten sairaaloihin, energiainfrastruktuuriin ja tiheästi asuttuihin alueisiin. Venäjä on myös siepannut, kiduttanut ja murhannut siviilejä, pakkosiirtänyt esimerkiksi lapsia ja murhannut sekä kiduttanut ukrainalaisia sotavankeja.
